Loving husband, father, grandfather and brotherJohn Ernest Emmi, 82, of Nokomis, Florida, passed away on August 9, 2024.John Emmi was born on July 23, 1942 to Ernest John Emmi and Sally Demario in Oneida, New York. After John Emmi graduated from Canastota High, he married Phyllis Parker on August 8th, 1964.He was then drafted to the Marine Corps where he went to Boot Camp in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and served in Vietnam in 1967. John Emmi is survived by wife, Phyllis Emmi, brother, Duke Emmi, sister-in-law, Patsy Emmi, sister, Patty Emmi, brother-in-law, Brian Petrie, son, John Emmi Jr., son, Ernest Emmi, daughter-in-law, Kim Emmi, grandsons, Charlie Emmi and Nicholas Emmi, grand-daughters, Madeline Emmi, Lydia Emmi, Sara Emmi and great grandson, Cyrus Walls. Services will be held at St. Agatha's Parish, 329 North Peterboro Street Canastota, New York 13032 on October 5th, 2024 at 11:00am, with Lunch Provided at the Church. Gravesite visit at 1:30pm. Dinner Reception from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Three Pines, 116 North Peterboro Street, Canastota, New York 13032. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnels to Towers, an organization John Emmi felt strongly about.
