John C. "Jack" Maddox, 79, of Carlisle, died Monday, September 16, 2024, at Claremont Nursing & Rehab. Center.

Born in Lewistown, he was the son of the late John and Sarah (Proud) Maddox and the husband of 57 years to Loretta (Van Horn) Maddox.

Jack worked as a teacher/administrator in the Business Dept. for over 20 years in the Carlisle Area School District before moving to Cumberland-Perry Area Vocational Technical School, where he was assistant director for over 12 years. He was also one of the founding owners and Real Estate Agent of Century 21 "A Better Way" in Carlisle.

Jack was a member of Carlisle Kiwanis, Cumberland Valley Corvette Club, and was an active member at Carlisle United Methodist Church. He loved reading, playing guitar, trips to the beach, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his daughters: Corey Derrenbacher, her husband, Don, of Maryland; Jackie Antes, her husband, Brad, of Carlisle; his son: Brady Maddox, his wife, Jacquelyn, of Carlisle; as well as his ten grandchildren: Casey, Devon, Brett, Laney, Nicholas, Gwendolyn, William, Susanna, Julia and Nora.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Carlisle United Methodist Church, 333 S. Spring Garden Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack's name may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 225 Michigan Ave., 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601.
