John Perun, 86, of Auburn, passed away peacefully and painlessly on Saturday, September 14, at the Commons on St. Anthony with his loved ones by his side, wife Stella never leaving his side or giving up through his battle with cancer and leukemia.

John and Stella came to this country from Poland with only each other, their son, and a whole lot of love and determination. They truly are the world's greatest love story.

John was the strongest, most hard working man, the backbone of the family. He worked hard at LAB as a welder alongside his brother Dymtro for many years. He had many talents he taught to the entire family. He loved to fix things that were broken. Vacuums on the side of the road had no chance when it came to John. They'd be brand new by the end of the day, and he would proudly give them to his family, friends, neighbors or anyone in need. Nothing went to waste or was unused when it came to John, not even someone's unfinished plate of chicken, down to the bone, there was no more meat.

He was a man of honor, dedicated to his family, generous with his time and affection, and had a contagious smile that would light up anyone's day, shine from ear to ear under the tree where he loved to sit and spend time with his wife and dog Coco. He loved being outside. Most times you would find him mowing his family, friends and neighbor's lawn, digging ditches by hand, laughing at chipmunks on the porch, and big giant deer followed by the "Holy moly it's as big as a cow Stasha." He was the most loving wonderful man, someone to always look up to and learn from.

He leaves behind his heartbroken family; wife, Stella Perun of 58 years (together for 61); his children Jerry Perun (Tina) of Marcellus, Barb Perun (Scott Deland) of Auburn; five grandchildren, Nicole Walters (Mark), Brittany Crawford (Brent), Zachary Perun (Olivia Ryan), Brandon Perun and Alexis Perun. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren and two on the way who unfortunately won't be able to meet the man that began their family 58 years ago. However his legacy and memory will live on through them.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from the Plis Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Our Dedo, he "Loved EVERYTBODY"
