John Rich Calls Out Jack Black After Biden Remarks

John Rich has called out Jack Black after the comedian shared his support for President Joe Biden in the upcoming election.

Political observers view the 2024 election as one of the most important in modern history. Biden and Donald Trump , the presumptive Democratic and Republican presidential nominees, respectively, are set to face off in a rematch of 2020. The two have sparred over issues such as the economy, abortion rights and democracy.

On June 15, a star-studded fundraiser—which included the likes of Jimmy Kimmel , George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Barbra Streisand—was held for Biden. Taking to the stage, Black wore a pair of American flag overalls and shared his support for the president.

While the clip went viral in June, Rich is now criticizing Black's appearance at the fundraiser. Rich is no stranger to slamming Biden and his supporters on social media—and even Black isn't safe from the country singer's criticism.

"For a comedian, Ol doesn't have the best timing does he?" Rich posted on X , formerly Twitter .

Newsweek emailed spokespeople for Black and Rich for comment on Thursday.

His post was in response to a video shared from the X account which is "Keeping score of President Biden's wins. The largest online community of President Biden's supporters."

The account uploaded a video with the caption: "BREAKING: Jack Black just delivered the strongest endorsement of President Biden this cycle and in the process he absolutely demolishes Donald Trump. Retweet so all Americans see this."

In the clip, Black joked that he turned down offers to appear at everything from MCing a bat mitzvah to being a judge at an avocado festival to show his support for Biden at the event. "And when the president wins in November—yeah!—I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a sweet shout-out in his victory speech for what I gave up to be here," he said. "Because when democracy is at stake, Jack Black answers the call. Mr. President, you're welcome."

In the comment section of the post, people showed their support for Black, including Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who wrote: "'like.'"

"Damn. Jack Black is the man," a different X user commented.

"Try not to love Jack black. Just try. You can't. The man is pure, love music, energy, positivity, decency and fun. We've got some great people on our side and a decent caring man running for the top seat but we gotta get the word out. Tell friends, tell young people!! VOTE BLUE," said another.

However, others were less than impressed with Black's comments, with one person writing: "This guy is irrelevant anymore, a joke."

"What is he wearing? Embarrassing," someone else wrote.

A third added: "The boot-licking is beyond grotesque."

In June, President Biden and former President Trump faced off in their first presidential debate in Atlanta, Georgia, as they sought to win over undecided voters. Polls showed the two candidates locked in a close race a little more than four months before the election. During the TV clash, the two sparred over issues including the economy, the conflict between Israel and Hamas , immigration and abortion.

Both candidates faced high stakes going into the debate. Polls suggest many voters are unhappy with their options ahead of the election, and both Biden, 81, and Trump, 78, have faced concerns about their age. The debate gave them an opportunity to quell such concerns and win over voters who could determine the outcome of the election in key swing states in November.
