The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled wide receiver Kadarius Toney for their Week 12 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders , the team announced via X on Saturday .

Injury Report Update: WR Kadarius Toney is now ruled out for Sunday’s game with an ankle/hip injury.

— Kansas City Chiefs November 25, 2023 The announcement is curious, as Toney was listed on the injury report with an ankle issue but logged three full practices this week. As of Friday, he was good to go for the game. They changed his injury to “ankle/hip” on Saturday, and now he will not play. Wide receiver Mecole Hardman and running back Jerick McKinnon were ruled on Friday.

In addition to the note on Toney, the team also announced that Hardman had been placed on injured reserve due to a thumb injury. That means he will miss at least the next four games — against Las Vegas, Green Bay, Buffalo and New England.

Finally, Kansas City elevated running back La’Mical Perine and wide receiver Montrell Washington from the practice squad for the game. Perine will serve the Chiefs as their third running back, while Montrell Washington is expected to be the kick returner. It’s likely that Richie James will return to the lineup as a receiver and punt returner.

As elevated players, Perine and Washington will return to the practice squad on Monday.
