Kareem Spotted at First Chiefs Practice: VIDEO
Following the potentially season-ending injury to running back Isiah Pacheco, the Kansas City Chiefs decided to bring in a familiar face, as they signed Kareem Hunt to their practice squad.
It's a reunion for the Chiefs and Hunt, as he returns to the team that drafted him in 2017 and released him in 2018. On Thursday, fans were able to get their first peek at Hunt in a Chiefs' uniform again in practice.
Now wearing 28, Hunt attended his first Chiefs' practice in over five years. In footage posted by reporter Pete Sweeney , Hunt is seen showing some burst in the open field, and catching passes and returns.
While he's currently only signed to the practice squad, Hunt is unlikely to stay there for long as he would be the most experienced running back on the Chief's roster if he were to get called up.
In his rookie year with Kansas City, Hunt led the NFL in rushing yards and was selected to the Pro Bowl. However, in the following year, footage was released of Hunt pushing down a woman and kicking her, causing the team to release him.
Eventually, Hunt's charges were dropped, and he signed with the Cleveland Browns, where he has spent his career up to this point. Now, Hunt will look to win his first career Super Bowl with a Chiefs team that is looking for their third-straight.
