A life rooted in family

Kathleen Bethel (Sweetman) Cuccio died on September 24, 2024, at 91 years old, surrounded by her loving family in Racine. Kathleen, known for her deep commitment to family, cherished her husband, Joe Cuccio, whom she met as a teenager on the Sixth Street bridge in Racine. They married at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Racine on June 27, 1952, and raised four children: Joe, Joleen, Jon, and Joan.

A love that spanned decades

Kathy and Joe shared a lifelong love of traveling and exploring the world, from the peaceful woods of northern Wisconsin to adventures in Alaska, Ireland, and Scotland. While Joe enjoyed the great outdoors, Kathy found joy in the new places they visited together, always treasuring their time as a couple. Their 57-year marriage was a testament to their deep bond, lasting until Joe died in 2009.

Cherished by family and friends

Kathleen's home was often filled with the joy of family gatherings, holidays, and celebrations with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathy found happiness in every meal shared and every birthday celebrated. Her family and friends will remember her as a caring matriarch who kept everyone close. Kathy's life was full of cherished moments spent with those she loved.

Memorial service details

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, followed by a funeral service at Holy Communion Lutheran Church at 2000 West Sixth Street, Racine, WI 53405. Kathleen Cuccio will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church , Pedal for Alzheimer's, or St. Monica's Senior Living .
