Kathleen F. (Wright) Moir, 83, daughter of the late Catherine and Joseph A.
Wright, died Aug. 28, 2004, after a long illness.
She was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, and graduated from St. Mary’s High
School and Mercy Hospital of Nursing. While a Lieutenant JG in the U.S. Navy,
she met and married Arnold Moir in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in 1944. After the
war, they settled in his home town, Detroit, Mich., where they resided for 17
years and raised three children.

In 1962 they relocated to Wilkes-Barre, where Mrs. Moir resumed her nursing
career at Mercy Hospital. She also volunteered over the years with many
organizations, including the Osterhout Library, St. Mary’s High School and St.
Therese Church, where she was active in the choir and Rosary Guild. She often
made over 100 rosaries a month to be sent on missions.

Her husband Arnold died in 1989. She was also preceded in death by brother,
Joseph and William; sisters, Reita and Maridale.

Surviving are her children, Robert, at home; Patricia, Oreland, Pa.;
Michael, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Michael Jr., Jamie and Emily; her
sister, Martha Wright; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at the
Matthew T. Jacobs Funeral Home, Inc., 47 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at St. Therese
R.C. Church, Old River Road. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery,
Memorial Highway, Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in her memory
to the American Cancer Society, North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, or St.
Therese R.C. Church, (Rosary Guild), 25 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre.
