Kathy Muskopf Armstrong
March 25, 1961 - October 22, 2024
Heaven gained another angel. Kathy passed away peacefully at her home on October 22, 2024, with her husband at her side.
Kathy was born in Cahokia, Illinois on March 25, 1961, and was the middle child of three daughters. She lived most of her early years in the Detroit. Michigan area. After graduating high school, she used her talents in sales to live on the east coast and the west coast of America as well as a stint as a jillaroo (cowgirl) in Australia. Because of her travels, she had an accent that no one could recognize.
During her life she set many goals and almost always found the way to achieve them. She often said first you must see yourself in what you want and then attain it through hard work and determination. She dreamed that someday she would live in the country surrounded by animals. She ultimately got her wish when she moved to Missoula in 1993 where she met her husband-to-be, Jerry. They recently celebrated 30 years of marriage at their mountain home where they raised all sorts of farm animals. It was the birth of their son Keanu in 2001 that gave her so much happiness. Being his Mom and watching him grow to the fine young man that he is today brought her so much pride and joy.
To say that Kathy lived her life to fullest is an understatement. Friends knew her as the girl with FOMO (fear of missing out) disease. She travelled the world taking in all that was offered and making many friends along the way. She had a shoe stolen by a hyena in Africa, had a polar bear eat her camera in Canada and had an impromptu camel race in the desert of Egypt. Travels with Kathy were never dull or mundane.
Never the wall flower, wherever there was a group of people, you could always be sure that Kathy was there leading them in laughter and song. To this day, many cannot hear the song Harper Valley PTA without thinking of her slightly off-key Karaoke rendition.
Kathy was never afraid to share her love of Christ to those around her and was a light in the darkness for many. She wore many hats but the two she was most proud of were Mom and "Prayer Warrior". Her love of God, Family and Country was an inspiration to all those fortunate enough to have met her. During her illness, one of her few regrets was not being able to continue her Bible Study meetings. Her hunger for the word of God was never ending.
She always put everyone ahead of her own needs and wants and she was more concerned about the well-being of her family and friends that she would leave behind. We are saddened by our loss of her but must know that in her final days she asked that everyone be happy and rejoice that as a believer in Christ, she knew she was going to our true home.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father Don, mother Billy Rose and sister Debbie. She is survived by her husband Jerry, son Cpl. Keanu Armstrong (USMC), sister Donna, and numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends too many to list.
We love you Kathy and thank you for making this word a better place. Your time here was albeit too brief by our desires but understand that God must have needed you more and we look forward to seeing again someday.
A celebration of life will be held at Crosspoint Church in Missoula on Friday November 22 at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Crosspoint Church, Turning Pont USA or a charity of your choice.
