Kearney Police and U.S. marshals arrest teen in Montana for overnight burglaries

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Kearney teenager was arrested in Montana in connection with two burglaries that took place in early October.

Chance Ashmore, 19, is accused of burglarizing Bread & Butter Tattoo and Herbal Wonder in Kearney on Oct. 2. Authorities later obtained a search warrant for Ashmore on suspicion of two county of burglary.

During investigation, police learned that Ashmore had recently traveled to Montana. Kearney Police in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested him at a bus stop in Billings Thursday morning.

On Oct. 10, authorities served a search warrant and recovered several stolen items, according to KPD.

Tim Wilson, 40, and Kirsty Cassidy, 33, both of Kearney, were booked on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property in connection to the two burglaries.

"The teamwork to solve this case was exceptional and the police work by uniform and criminal investigators was professional and diligent," City of Kearney Police Chief Bryan Waugh said.

The Kearney Police Department said they would like to thank the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service for their help in investigation and apprehension.
