The Kenosha municipal building will be closed to regular business on Tuesday, Nov. 5, due to Election Day activities.

All city municipal building services will be suspended, other than voters who can return their absentee ballot at the City Clerk's Office on Election Day and observers and media present for Absentee Central Count.

All services provided through City Hall will resume to normal hours on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Voters may return their absentee ballot in person at the City Clerk's Office, 625 52nd St., on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents will not be able to vote or register to vote at City Hall that day; however, same day voter registration is available at polling places.

Visit myvote.wi.gov to locate your polling place. Be sure to bring acceptable photo id to obtain a ballot, and proof of residence, if registering to vote.

"Our priority is to administer a safe, secure and transparent election, and ensure that every eligible voter has an opportunity to cast their ballot," City Clerk Michelle Nelson said. "We encourage voters to know their options and make a plan." Visit kenosha.org , click the Elections button, scroll to "Make a Plan" for more information.

Voters can also return their ballot in person before Election Day at the City Clerk's Office during extended absentee voting hours or by mail through the United States Postal Service. Ballots must arrive at the City Clerk's Office by 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.

The deadline to request a ballot by mail is 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, unless you are indefinitely confined or in the military; then the deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1.

Voters can request an absentee ballot at myvote.wi.gov . If assistance is needed, contact the City Clerk.
