Kenosha County area students receive college recognition

Amber Collin, who attended Indian Trail High School & Academy in Kenosha, has received both the Chancellor's Scholarship and the Freshmen Honors Scholarship as an incoming freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall for the 2024-25 academic year.

Caleb Weis, a marketing major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from Burlington, was one of 33 students who were recognized for their performances at the 2024 Enterprise Mobility Perfect Pitch Competition on Sept. 18. Weis's pitch was part of the beginner placements and earned second place in the competition. Participating students delivered a 60- to 90-second pitch that demonstrated themselves to a prospective new employer—Enterprise Mobility. Students were challenged to tell a story that was unique to them featuring two to three characteristics about themselves. The competition took place ahead of the AMA Regional Conference, which is slated for Oct. 17-18 at UW-Whitewater's Hyland Hall.

Core Miller of Mount Pleasant, who is studying theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, is part of the university's production of "Lady Windermere's Fan" by Oscar Wilde. Miller is a member of the cast serving in the role of Lord Augustus. Performances of "Lady Winderemere's Fan," directed by Bruce Cohen, will run Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 10-12 at Hicklin Studio Theatre in UW-Whitewater's Greenhill Center of the Arts.

Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, N.H., has named the following Kenosha County area students to its summer 2024 academic dean's list, for students earning a minimum grade point av3erage of 3.5 to 3.69. Named were: Donna Kuczynski of Sturtevant, Morgan Styden of Kenosha, Vandessa Rivera of Kenosha, and Zachariah Bakke of Burlington.

Southern New Hampshire University named the following Kenosha County area to its 2024 academic president's list for earning a minimum grade point average of 3.7 or higher: Lacy Wyatt, Kyle Follick, Taylor Hoff, Madisyn Kuczenski, Alisa Greer, Antonio Sanchez, Desiree Bondenlos, Samuel Thomas and Michael Conrad, all of Kenosha; Taylorann Baumgartner of Trevor; and David Floss of Bristol.

The following students graduated over the summer from Marquette University in Milwaukee: Jules Balli of Kenosha with a masters degree in Communication; Brooke Santelli of Kenosha, with a masters in Physician Assistant Studies; Joseph Torcaso of Kenosha, with a masters in Business Administration; Alexis Torchia of Kenosha, with a doctorate in Occupational Therapy; Jordan Vangarde of kenosha, with a masters in Computer and Information Science; Same Ledwitch of Pleasant Prairie, with a masters in Criminal Justice Data Analytics; and Megan Fiorino of Salem, with a bachelor degree in Social Welfare and Justice.
