Kentucky murder suspect caught

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police says Steven Girtley has been arrested in connection with a Franklin County murder investigation.

Troopers say Girtley was found inside a barn on his property in Franklin County shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday. He was arrested and charged with one count of murder.

Police have been searching for Girtley since Saturday night.

KSP says they responded to the area of Flat Creek Road in Franklin County just before 10 p.m. Saturday about an altercation between Justin Girtley and Steven Girtley. When they arrived, police found Justin Girtley with a gunshot wound. Police say Steven had fled the residence into a wooded area by the time troopers arrived.

Police say the two men are related.

The Franklin County Coroner pronounced 36-year-old Justin Girtley of Frankfort dead at the scene.
