Kentucky set a Calipari-Era and Rupp Arena record tonight

A.Hernandez3 months ago

It was a carefree night at Rupp Arena as Kentucky cruised to a 118-82 victory over Marshall . The game was never in doubt, with Kentucky leading by 69 points at halftime, a record for the most points scored in a single half in Rupp Arena. By the end, Kentucky’s 118 points were also a record for the most scored in a single game in the John Calipari era. Sure, Kentucky allowed 82 points, but let’s focus on the fun and break down what a historic performance this was with some help from our friend, UK statistician Corey Price .

  • The most in a single game since Kentucky’s win over Kentucky State on Dec. 15, 2001
  • The Rupp Arena record for Kentucky is 127 points, which came in a win over LSU in March 1995
  • The most ever by a Kentucky team period is 143, in a victory over Georgia in Louisville in 156
  • Kentucky is now 207-6 (97.2%) all-time when scoring at least 100 points in a single game.
  • Fourth most in a single half in school history behind:
  • Per Kyle Tucker , no other Division I team since 2010 has had 120+ assists and fewer than 49 turnovers through six games.
  • Kentucky had 27 assists to only 9 turnovers tonight.
  • Only the second time in school history Kentucky has achieved this
  • Kentucky made 16-27 threes tonight, a 59% clip
