Kentucky Weather Tomorrow: Cloudy and cool with minimal holiday travel impacts
LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Finally! It seems like it has been forever since we had good-soaking rain across the Commonwealth.
There hasn’t been a single day in November with more than 0.1” of rainfall in one 24-hour period. We’ve achieved much more than that Tuesday.
Rainfall totals are rolling in between 5” and 1.5” across the state. Lexington has received over 1.25” so far.
The bulk of the rain is done. We’ll see light mist, drizzle, and fog continue overnight, with lows holding in the 40s.
The pesky drizzle will be possible at times through Wednesday as the overcast sky remains in place behind this system.
Temperatures will stall out in the upper 40s with winds from the west-northwest at 5 to 15 mph to usher in the cooler air.
As clouds clear overnight Wednesday into Thanksgiving morning, we’ll see temperatures dip into the 30s.
Sunshine will return for Thanksgiving Day, and high temperatures will rebound to right near average, which sits in the low 50s for late November.
On the other side of the holiday, temperatures will remain slightly below average into the weekend. We’re tracking another weak wave that may bring some light rain on Sunday.
The Next Big Thing is some colder air working in at times next week to push some nights well into the 20s and daytime highs that get stuck in the upper 30s to low 40s.
