Kentucky weather tomorrow: Much-needed rain the first half, sun in the second half

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The weather has flipped, and we’re well on our way back to normal November temperatures as the rest of the cool air behind the cold front kicks up some rain to round out the week.

Overnight, lows dip into the 40s as scattered rain chances increase across the state. We’ll see periods of moderate rainfall into early Friday.

Rain will continue through mid-morning before dry, clear air slowly takes over into the afternoon. By early evening, the sun will make an appearance.

Rainfall amounts won’t be enough to burst our moderate drought conditions, which have been plaguing most of the state for the majority of the fall.

Rain totals will range from a trace to 0.1” the closer to Lexington you reside. Meanwhile, southern and eastern zones will see up to 0.5” of much-needed rain to bring some relief to wildfires and drought conditions. There are over 120 wildfires still ongoing across the Commonwealth.

Once the rain moves out Friday, we’ll open up to some sunshine that should push temperatures into the mid-50s.

Veterans Day looks pleasant and seasonable with high temperatures in the mid-50s. We’ll see a partly cloudy sky, too.

Sunday looks like a repeat of Saturday with some cool morning lows near freezing over the weekend. A similar forecast spills into next week.

Hunters will be happy to see a great opening-gun season forecast on both days! Winds will generally be north-northeast on Saturday and Sunday, and the cooler temperatures should get deer moving!
