Kevin Lee Dout, 73, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on September 5, 2024. Born in Denver, CO, he was a devoted husband, father, and educator.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 51 years, Holly Dout; three sons, Casey (Angie), Jonathan (Andrea Friedman), and Tyler; and grandchildren Aiden, Sydney, Kellan, Dylan, and Jordan. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Kuckartz (Dennis), and nieces Kristina (Adam Smelley) and Jennifer (Steve Snellen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Rhiney and Wilda Dout.

Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master's degree in Physical Education. He dedicated 37 years as a Physical Education teacher primarily at Prospect Valley Elementary School in Wheat Ridge, CO, part of Jefferson County Public Schools, where he was known for his Olympic-style field days and year-round intramural sports. He was passionate about Outdoor Lab Education, volunteering as part of the Cadre to foster a love of nature in his students.

A passionate swim coach, Kevin influenced young athletes through the North High School recreation program and the Applewood Athletic Club swim team. He was also a dedicated member of his church, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, completed two Denver Marathons, and was proud of having traveled to all 50 states, with his last journey being to North and South Carolina with Holly.

The family expresses gratitude to the caregivers at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence in West Knoxville and Clinton. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on October 26th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Prospect Valley Elementary School in Wheat Ridge, CO, with a brief service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
