Key Route 1 Ramp Closing For Reconstruction PennDOT said the work starts Friday in Bensalem Township. See when and where the closure will take place below.

—A key ramp will be closed starting Friday for reconstruction as part of the Route 1 Improvement Project, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said construction is planned on Route 1 and Rockhill Drive under PennDOT's $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • From 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, to 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to Rockhill Drive will be closed for ramp reconstruction. Motorists will be directed to use the Street Road (Route 132) exit and travel west on Old Lincoln Highway to access Rockhill Drive.
  • From 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, to 6 a.m. On Monday, Oct. 21, a right lane closure will occur on Rockhill Drive between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard for ramp paving.
  • Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays may occur.
