has one last offense to stifle between them and both a conference title and spot in the College Football Playoff . However, this unit for is much different than any Kirby Smart has seen beforehand.

Smart shared his thoughts on the Crimson Tide offense during a press conference ahead of the SEC Championship on Thursday . He credited the new staff for building their attack around the strengths of their new weapons compared to years past.

“It’s very different,” said Smart. “I think they’ve done an incredible job. What you do is you take your players and you do what your players can do best. Although they don’t have the exact same coordinator either? They don’t have a lot of the same coaches they had three, four, five years ago when Mac (Jones) was there or Bryce (Young) was there.”

“They’ve taken their players and they’ve made their offense fit their players. They do a really good job of that,” Smart said.

As far as highlights, Smart looked at their offensive line and then QB Jalen Milroe behind that line. It’s a strength in their offense and allows Milroe to be at his best like he has been as the season has gone on.

“It features their offensive line, which is the biggest, most physical offensive line in the country in terms of just sheer size and strength. Then the quarterback is able to make plays ,” said Smart. “They know that.”

“They allow him to make plays with his feet and some of his best plays are on plays that are off schedule,” Smart continued. “He has also grown and gotten better as the year has gone on. They’ve taken some things out and said, ‘Hey, that’s not what he does best’. They’ve made it where what he does best ? They do – and they do that really well.”

The Crimson Tide, albeit in a different way, are still posting a Top-20 offense with 35.8 points per game in their first year with OC Tommy Rees . They’re doing so with over 400 yards of offense a contest – 231.5 through the air and 177.6 on the ground.

Smart has seen his fair share of offenses at Alabama as a staff member and opponent . Ahead of their matchup in Atlanta, though, he knows this one is on a different level in its own way.

“It’s very different than what they’ve had in the past,” said Smart.
