Kitten Owner Leaves Laptop Unattended for 3 Minutes-Returns to Chaos: ‘How?’
A man who left his kitten alone with his work laptop for a matter of minutes could not believe what he found upon his return.
Krow Iroquois, a graphic design artist and social media manager living in San Jose, California, left his kitten, Shiva, unattended near his computer for no more than three minutes while he went to the bathroom. Upon his return, however, he discovered Shiva had been busy making a few adjustments to his laptop.
A video posted to Iroquois' TikTok account, provided a glimpse of the disruption. Somehow, Shiva was able to turn on the laptop's built-in light while, even more bizarre still, the screen had been magnified to 1600 percent its normal setting.
The pet owner was understandably baffled at what had taken place, asking again and again on the video, simply: "How?"
Iroquois told Newsweek: "I have no idea how Shiva managed to do that to my laptop. All I remember is going to the bathroom for literally three minutes to apply lip gloss and it was like that when I walked back into the living room."
Though it might not have felt like it right then, research has found that having a cat for company, whether at home , in the workplace or, like Iroquois, both, can be beneficial.
A 2020 study from the journal PLoS One found that cats can have a positive effect on their owners' physiological and psychological health.
Cats can help improve mood and also stimulate activation of the human prefrontal cortex, which is used in decision-making and reasoning. They also boost the inferior frontal gyrus, which plays a crucial role in attention and speech function among other things, in the brain.
The positives of having Shiva around certainly outweigh the negatives for Iroquois.
"Shiva came into my life when a housemate offered me a free kitten when someone they knew had a new litter of babies that they were looking to give away," he said. "I have raised Shiva since he was hardly two months old. Some of his favorite things to do are eat, beg me for my food, go on adventures around the house, and terrorize my feet."
Iroquois works closely with a civil rights organization that helps transgender youth so having a cat around to help boost his well being while stimulating his brain isn't a bad idea at all - provided the cat doesn't cause too much chaos .
While Shiva's mischief may have left Iroquois with a mess to clean up, thankfully the issues were ironed out pretty quickly.
Though some might consider implementing something to avoid a repeat of the situation, Iroquois isn't in a rush to introduce anything that might prevent him from enjoying a few daytime cuddles with his furry friend.
Jobs may come and go and every project has a deadline, but a cat like Shiva is for life.
