Today: Sunny and pleasant weather is forecast across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains on this Tuesday. It will be breezy at times. High temperatures will range from the upper 50s to the upper 60s. The wind will be out of the west-northwest 10 to 20 mph Sunrise is at 7:23 AM CST. Tonight: Clear and colder weather is forecast for this evening and tonight across the area. The first freeze of the season is forecast for Lubbock. Low temperatures will range from the middle 20s to the middle 30s. The wind will be out of the north-northwest 5 to 10 mph. Sunset is at 5:42 AM CST.
: Sunny and cooler weather is forecast across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains on Wednesday. High temperatures will range from the middle 50s to the lower 60s. The wind will be out of the northwest in the morning and then southwest in the afternoon 5 to 15 mph. Sunrise is at 7:24 AM CST. Sunset is at 5:42 AM CST.
Extended Forecast: Dry weather is forecast across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains over the extended forecast period.
High temperatures on Tuesday will range from the upper 50s to the upper 60s. Wednesday's highs will range from the middle 50s to the lower 60s. Highs on Thursday and Friday will range from the lower to the upper 60s. Saturday's highs will range from the upper 60s to the middle 70s. Highs on Sunday will range from the lower to the upper 70s. Forecast daytime highs on Monday will range from the middle 60s to the lower 70s.
Low temperatures on Wednesday morning will range from the middle 20s to the middle 30s. Thursday's and Friday's morning lows will be in the lower and the middle 30s. Lows on Saturday morning will range from the middle 30s to the lower 40s. Lows on Sunday morning will be in the lower and the middle 40s. Forecast morning lows on Monday will range from the upper 30s to the middle 40s.
Drought Update: Some minor improvements were noted in the drought situation across the portions of the South Plains and the Rolling Plains, according to the latest update of the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) released on Thursday, November 14. Abnormally dry (D0) conditions to moderate stage (D1) drought conditions are in place the South Plains Plains and the Rolling Plains, the USDM showed.
