Knox County remains identified after being found in September 2021

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Texas company specializing in DNA and forensic genealogy said they've cracked another Knox County cold case.
Othram shared that the man was identified as Dennis Lowe. His body was found in a homeless camp on September 7, 2021 . When the body turned up, law enforcement was told that he was known to others in the camp as "The Old Man."
His NamUs profile includes a gallery of items found on or near his body, including a watch, some sunglasses and a tent.

Othram said the Knox County Regional Forensic Center sent a sample for DNA testing in 2023 leading to potential relatives that confirmed the remains were Lowe.
