The first bye week of the season for the Kentucky football program doesn't mean college football is going to stop. The Cats get the day off but the sport is still rolling on.

The Calgorithm gets "College GameDay" in Berkeley and a well balanced schedule with some feature games in each window should keep us entertained on the first Saturday in October. It's time to enjoy this bye week the only way we know how — by watching football.

    Another college football Saturday will take up most of the oxygen but there is more Big Blue Nation activity to be aware of. High school football, Mark Pope sitting down with Jack Pilgrim and Shawn Smith, and a donation drive at Rupp Arena highlight this autumn weekend.

    On Friday, Jack Pilgrim and Mark Pope got 30-plus minutes to spend with Kentucky men's basketball head coach Mark Pope on campus. In a candid conversation, the trio got to speak to the former national champion about the job and what comes next for the program.

    Male holds off Frederick Douglass

    In a battle of top-10 teams in a 6A heavyweight fight, Louisville Male left Lexington with a narrow three-point victory over Frederick Douglass.

    Louisville commit Antonio Harris dominated for the Bulldogs in the 31-28 win . The three-star prospect hauled in three receiving touchdowns to push his season total to six. Junior quarterback Jordan Williams finished with four passing touchdowns.

    Frederick Douglass' up-and-down season continues, as the Broncos fell to 3-3 with the loss. All three losses however are quality L's, as they've come to No. 3 Male, No. 6 , and No. 16 DuPont Manual

  • Rupp Arena hosts Red Cross drive for Hurricane Helene victims

    In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, Rupp Arena, proudly will host the American Red Cross as they collect donations at the Leanne Morgan show on October 5, 2024This initiative aims to provide immediate relief to communities that are grappling with the aftermath of this severe storm.

    The Red Cross has deployed over 500 trained disaster workers to the affected areas, where they are actively delivering critical support, including meals, essential supplies, and damage assessments.

    Doors open at 6:00 p.m. ET, and we encourage attendees to arrive early to help fill the Red Cross buckets at the entrance. This is a great opportunity for attendees to contribute directly to recovery efforts and make a real difference in the lives of those facing significant challenges.
