Kuehnert Milk House makes plans for return of the milkman

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Family-owned Kuehnert Dairy Farm is planning its next step to bring the milkman back to the roads.

The sixth-generation dairy farm is known for its annual fall festival and launching its milk house earlier this year.

The milk house serves various flavors of milk in glass bottles, allowing for customers to bring them back in for store credit. This is part of their mission to have a classic approach to dairy products, while also helping with sustainability.

The family shared they have decided to take their "old-fashioned approach" one step further.

They plan to bring the milkman back, delivering classic and flavored milks, cheese curds, and butter.

Milk House Manager Andrew Kuehnert told 21Alive he hopes this is another way for them to connect with the community.

While it is unknown the exact date they plan to get the trucks up and running, they hope to have the fresh dairy products on the delivery trucks within the next three months.

"We've had great reception from the public saying, 'We would really enjoy having that at our doorstep,'" Kuehnert says.

He says they plan for all orders to be taken online, and allow for reoccurring deliveries.
