Scott Mann concedes North Cornwall seatJulia Peet BBC Spotlight

Conservative Scott Mann has conceded the North Cornwall constituency, which he previously represented.

Talking to staff, he said: "The tide is out, it looks like it is across the South West, my boat is above the water line."

The former postman of nearly 20 years said it was "disappointing" but he was pretty "sanguine about it".

Mr Mann said: "I'm super proud of those people who came out and voted for me this time and over the last nine years."

He added: "I think I could have knocked on another 40,000 doors and it wouldn't have made the difference."
