SPRING CREEK — In the third Division 3A North girls golf tournament of the season, Elko notched a top-top five finish and Spring Creek followed in sixth place.

On Monday, the Lady Indians notched a team score of 466 — the Lady Spartans posting a 472 on Spring Creek Golf Course.

Truckee won its second event in three outings with a collective card of 383, besting Lowry's second-place 393 by 10 strokes.

Fallon ranked third with a 445, and South Tahoe jumped to a season-best fourth with a 455.

Behind Elko and Spring Creek, North Valleys was seventh with a 477 — Fernley finishing eighth with a round of 487.

Dayton capped the nine-team field with a 640.

Individually, several girls were able to put together remarkable rounds — despite battling a lighting delay and wet conditions.

Like her team, Truckee's Allison Mortimeyer collected her second win with a score of 81 — narrowly fending off the second-place 82 from teammate Alina Gillespie.

Lowry's Katie Cassinelli and Fallon's Charissa Chenoweth tied for third place with matching cards of 88.

The Lady Buckaroos gained a fifth-place effort of 92 from Presley Hayes.

Wooster's Emily Whetzel placed sixth with a round of 93, South Tahoe's Carly Cox posted a 100-even for seventh place and Lowry's Lainey Novacek shot a 102 for eighth place.

Fernley's Madison Rodriguez finished ninth with a 104.

A trio of golfers rounded out the top 10: Elko's Bianca Luna, Spring Creek's Allison Esparza and North Valleys' Shia Sarchett each going to the clubhouse with rounds of 105.

Locally — behind Luna's 105 — Elko's Caitlyn Nielsen gave the Lady Indians their second-best card with a round of 109.

For the Lady Spartans, Elyssa Gleed shot a 119 for Spring Creek's second-best score.

Elko's and Spring Creek's third-best scores were identical; Cheyanne O'Connell notching a 123 for the Lady Indians — Sarah Navarez posting a 123 for the Lady Spartans.

The Lady Spartans rounded out their team total with a card of 125 by Mackenzie Gleed.

For the Lady Indians, the team scoring was capped with a 129 — the number of strokes tallied by both Daniela Luna and Delilah Duran.

Only one of the cards counted toward the team total.

Spring Creek's roster was capped with a 130 from Kenleigh Carsrud and a 137 for Addison Moore.

Elko's roster was finished off with a 142 by Erika Lopez.

*On Tuesday, the Lady Indians' home tournament was canceled after each girl completed approximately seven holes due to heavy rainfall at Ruby View Golf Course — the event ruled a wash and will not be made up.
