Lane closures scheduled in Fairborn for water break repair

FAIRBORN, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Lane closures are expected in Fairborn Wednesday evening due to a water break.

The Fairborn Water Division will be performing a repair on South Central Avenue near the YMCA, temporarily closing the northbound lanes starting at 10 p.m.

Repairs are expected to take between 6 and 7 hours. The roadway is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Residents within the construction area can access their property from the southbound outside lane on S. Central Ave. City officials advise caution when driving through the area.

Should the repair extend past 6 a.m., an additional road closure and a detour route will be installed on Kauffman Ave. at Garland Ave. utilizing Maple Ave. This will be the primary route for northbound rush hour traffic to avoid congestion on Erie South Maple Ave.
