Lane Kiffin reacts to Jaxson Dart breaking Archie Manning passing record at Ole Miss

Jaxson Dart broke records during Ole Miss ' 63-31 win over in Week 10 — most notably passing Rebels legend Archie Manning for the all-time leader in passing yards in program history.

Dart also became the program's all-time winningest quarterback (25 wins) after downing the Razorbacks. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin provided his inital reaction to Dart's newest pair of accolades during his postgame press conference.

"I thought he was great," Kiffin said of Dart's performance against the Razorbacks. "I said he played well last week. I mean, the guy takes criticism and I think he plays very well. He's the all-time winningest quarterback here and has most total yards in the history of the school, so he must be doing something right even before today.

"I'm just glad that hopefully everybody sees it now. And he's worked really hard to get there. It's not just talent alone. The guy works as hard as anybody all week long, always up in the office, always trying to find new things and work with the new different receivers. Jordan [Watkins] used to be a slot and then with Tre [Harris] out we've moved him outside, and they did a great job working together throughout the weeks. And this week in order to do this."

Dart threw for 515 yards and six touchdowns during the 32-point victory. His efforts earned him player of the week honors from AP, SEC, Maxwell and more. By the end of the game, he had broken or tied Ole Miss team records for a single game in total offense (562), passing yards or passing touchodwns by the end of the game.

Still, he was able to break the all-time career passing record that was held by Archie Manning for decades. The record sits a 10,805 yards and counting heading into Week 11. Dart also holds the school record for most 300-yard passing games with 13.

Most impressively — he's done all of it in three seasons.

With his Ole Miss career likely coming to an end at the conclusion of the season, Dart has more than left his mark on Oxford since 2022. However, he has more than a few opportunities to pad all of his record totals before he leaves campus.
