LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Cars for a cause. A five-year-old boy's birthday wish came true on Friday. Lansing car clubs eager to spread joy and push back against their tough reputation, rallied together to show off their cars for a boy who otherwise may not have been able to see them.

"She thought it would be a great idea to round up all these guys, car guys because this is what we do regardless on a Friday," said Raymond Buycks, with BCBR.

Seven is unable to attend car shows normally.

"A young lady let me know that she had a son that was turning five this Friday, he's into cars and he has a rare skin condition so he wasn't able to attend any car shows. We're gonna take the car show to him since he couldn't come to one," said Raymond Buycks.

Car groups usually get a bad reputation for being loud and hanging out in parking lots. They say they want to show people what they're really about.

"We have gifts for him, we have cards for him, his mom doesn't know anything about it, she knows we're coming but she doesn't know we have gifts. We love the kids, we love the community, and it's about giving back," said Terrance Smith with Capital City Muscle.

For them, it's bigger than the cars. Seeing themselves in Seven.

"I was a kid once and I see somebody riding by in a nice car and that made me smile and made my day, that's why I am the way I am today," said Damon Buycks, CEO of BCBR.
