Las Vegas Aces add USA Basketball assistant Ty Ellis to coaching staff

The Las Vegas Aces have added longtime USA Basketball assistant Ty Ellis to the team's coaching staff.

Ellis joins the Aces after serving as an assistant coach with USA Basketball men's teams for the last eight years, including the2017 gold medal-winning USA AmeriCup Team.

He was also head coach of the G League's Stockton Kings for two seasons from 2018-20 and was an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns in the 2017-18 season.

"I'm super excited to add Ty Ellis to our coaching staff," head coach Becky Hammon said in a statement. "He brings a wealth of experience both as a head coach and as an assistant from the NBA, G League and international play. Not only is his energy palpable, but his character and work ethic are things I highly value."

Hammon has to rebuild her coaching staff ahead of the 2025 season. Top assistantsNatalie Nakase andTyler Marsh for the Golden State Valkyries and Chicago Sky, respectively.

The Aces are also without a general manager after declining to renew Natalie Williams' contract.
