Las Vegas police make arrest after finding woman’s body in freezer
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police arrested a man Thursday for the death of a woman whose body was found locked in a freezer, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.
Daniel Roush, 37, faces an open murder charge for his 68-year-old ex-roommate's death, records said.
At around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, officers conducted a welfare check at home in the 5500 block of Tres Piedras Road, near Nellis Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive. The victim was last seen in October, LVMPD Lt. Jason Johansson said.
Officers attempted to make contact with the woman, Johansson said. When they did not receive a response, officers entered the home, finding Roush and another person "acting in a suspicious nature" who could not provide officers with the missing woman's location, Johansson said.
Officers then searched the home and found a chest freezer, which was locked. A locksmith later opened the freezer and officers found the woman's remains, Johansson said. The woman's cause of death was not yet determined as of Thursday.
Roush also faces drug charges, records said.
Johansson encouraged anyone in the area who may know anything to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section by phone at 702-828-3521 or by email at To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online.
Roush was being held Thursday without bail.
