Late Late Show cancelled this Friday – but RTÉ says there’s a good reason and show will return next week with major guest

The chat show will have a break for one week only and will not air tomorrow, November 8.

RTÉ said tomorrow's show has been cancelled as Patrick Kielty and The Late Late Show team record their New Year's Eve special.

It also happens to coincide with the Ireland rugby team's clash with New Zealand, which starts at 8.10pm.

Kielty reminded viewers to tune in next week and told the audience at the end of the previous episode: "Remember, we're not here next week."

"But we will be back on Friday, November 15, with the star of Gladiator II, Mr Paul Mescal," Kielty added.

Next Friday, Kielty will be joined by the acting sensation to talk about the film, which has its Irish premiere on Thursday evening.

Mescal is set to hit the red carpet at Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield, Dublin, for the premiere of Ridley Scott's movie.

It comes as RTÉ announced today the opening of the lottery to be in the audience of The Late Late Toy Show.

The show has invited everyone to try their luck at being part of the fun during the Christmas special and join the studio audience by entering the Toy Show ticket lottery.

"Remember, Toy Show dreams do come true but you gotta be in it to win it. So be quick. And be lucky!" Kielty said.
