Law enforcement responding to ‘high-risk’ situation near Westcliffe

CUSTER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A situation was taking place in northern Custer County on Monday that the sheriff’s office described as “high-risk.” According to law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the situation, multiple people are dead following reports of an active shooter.

At about 2:30 p.m. the Custer County Sheriff’s Office posted the following to social media:

Rocky Ridge Road is northeast of Westcliffe.

No other information was available from Custer County officials or any of the assisting agencies as of this article’s last update.
