Lawrence County deputy struck by vehicle, transported by helicopter to Nashville hospital

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Lawrence County deputy has been transported to a Nashville hospital via helicopter after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night.

According to 911 director Chad Moore, authorities responded to a shots fired call just after 9:30 p.m. at the area of West Point Road and Waterloo Road. There is an ongoing investigation about the shots fired.

At some point, a Lawrence County deputy was struck by a vehicle. Moore added that the deputy was alert, but had to be transported via helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. The deputy's condition is not known at this time.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) was at the scene. News 2 has reached out to THP for more information.
