Learn how to make maple syrup at Auburn college workshop

How to tap trees and make maple syrup will be the subject of a workshop from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Room M214 of Cayuga Community College, 197 Franklin St., Auburn.
Staff from Cornell University's maple program will lead the workshop, whose topics will include identifying and tapping maple trees, collecting sap, processing it into syrup and the program's resources.
The workshop costs $13 and includes cheese pizza. It is free for Cayuga Community College students.
