Leona Snider passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Home in Kearney. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney.

Leona was born November 30, 1943 in Orleans, Neb., to Albert and Clara (Wilken) Fruhling. She was raised near Orleans and attended Long Island High School in Long Island, Kan. Leona was united in marriage to Charles Snider on July 23, 1967 in Hildreth, Neb. To this union two children were blessed. The couple made their home in York, Neb. where they co-owned C&L Machine and Engine Works for 42 years. Following their retirement, they moved to Kearney, Neb. where they first met.

Leona enjoyed painting, crafts, interior decorating and crocheting. Her life revolved around her family, and she always loved getting the family together for different occasions.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles Snider of Kearney; daughter, Kandi Brown and significant other, Kent McConnell of Gibbon; son, Chris (Liz) Snider of Lincoln; grandson, William Brown of Blacksburg, Va.; sister, Lorena Ryan of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Carla Fruhling of Kearney and Sandee Fruhling of Lincoln; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd, Leland and Larry Fruhling.
