Letter: Clearing house for political advertisements

K.Thompson37 min ago

There should be a clearing house for political ads. From what I've been reading, watching and hearing lately, politicians and their political action committees (PACs) have carte blanche when running ads on tv and radio. It shouldn't be this way, especially in an important election year with so much at stake. Most candidates should be embarrassed by the falsehood fabrications and dishonest facts being stated in their names. One party in particular (in my opinion) is the worst by far. Luckily, I made my mind up long ago on who I'm voting for and am (happily) immune to the impending barrage of garbage likely forthcoming. I think most voters have the intelligence to filter out the rhetoric to make an intelligent choice on who to vote for, one not based on hogwash, but based by considering the character of their candidate.
