Letter: Trump rally shows that religion, politics mix

When I was ten, Sister Mary Charles taught me in catechism class about sin. Mortal sin was serious, Venial sin not so much. I was confused about Cardinal sin and thought it had something to do with neglecting prayer for those guys who wore red beanies and helped the Pope Make decisions.

These thoughts came back to me while watching on of Donald Trump's rallies in which Cardinal Dolan was his guest along with two senior age nuns that wore traditional black habits.

Many of New York Catholics supported Trump after the rally. Who says religion and politics don't mix. I don't believe it.
