Lewis Hall, Taylor Harwood-Bellis handed maiden England call-ups in Lee Carsley’s final squad

Lee Carsley has named his final England squad as interim manager for the upcoming Nations League games against Republic of Ireland and Greece .

Newcastle United 's Lewis Hall and Southampton 's Taylor Harwood-Bellis have earned their first senior call-ups but there is still no place for Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers .

Hall's Newcastle team-mate Tino Livramento has been left out having been called up as a late addition to the October squad. Liverpool 's Curtis Jones was also added to that squad and remains in Carsley's selection this time, despite not playing against Greece or Finland .

John Stones has dropped out of the squad after sustaining an injury for Manchester City , while club-mates Kyle Walker , Rico Lewis and Jack Grealish are all selected.

Hall, 20, has established himself as Newcastle's first-choice left-back this season having completed a permanent move from Chelsea in the summer after spending left season on loan with Eddie Howe's side.

Harwood-Bellis, 22, was previously captain of the England Under-21s during Carsley's time in charge. The centre-back has made 10 appearances for Southampton this season after moving permanently to the south-coast side from City in the summer.

Thomas Tuchel was appointed as Gareth Southgate's permanent successor last month on an 18-month contract which begins on January 1.

Carsley will remain in charge for the trip to Greece on November 14 and home game against Republic of Ireland four days later. He will return to his role as England Under-21 head coach, which he has held since 2020.

England are second in Group B2, having taken nine points from their opening four games. Their one and only loss during Carsley's temporary reign came against group leaders Greece, who have a three-point advantage at the top going into the final round of fixtures.

Carsley's side will secure automatic promotion back to League A with maximum points from their final two games. A second-placed finish will mean a two-legged play-off tie against a third-ranked team from League A, with a place in the top tier at stake.

Tuchel, meanwhile, is not expected to attend either of this month's fixtures, nor the draw for the 2026 World Cup qualifying groups, which is scheduled to take place at the end of December in Zurich.

Speaking at his unveiling last month, the 51-year-old German said he wanted "a clean start and a bit of time to recharge fully" before officially taking the helm for the start of England's 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in March.
