Light Up Main Street Rings In The Holiday Season
Santa Clarita's annual Light Up Main Street event brought festive cheer to Old Town Newhall last night, delighting residents with a vibrant holiday celebration.
The evening kicked off at 4 p.m. and spanned five blocks, offering something for everyone, from live entertainment to festive shopping and family-friendly activities.
The highlight of the evening was the Tree Lighting Ceremony where thousands of sparkling lights illuminated the downtown area.
Santa Clarita Mayor Cameron Smyth and City Council members led the countdown, officially marking the start of the holiday season.
Guests were captivated by the musical performances of several groups during the event, including the Innovation Show Choir, the Hart High Show Choir, Mission Opera, Vibe Performing Arts, and the Castaic Union School District Carolers.
Other attractions included a Snow Zone featuring 30 tons of real snow, opportunities to meet Santa, and a whimsical "Grinch-tacular Whoville Celebration."
Families enjoyed classic carnival games at the Candy Cane Carnival while children explored inflatable slides and obstacle courses in the Polar Playground. Craft stations at the Elves' Workshop encouraged creativity, and those seeking quieter moments could relax in the sensory-friendly Chill Zone.
Food trucks and local restaurants served festive treats, while vendors at the Maker's Marketplace showcased handcrafted holiday items. The Drink PAK Lounge provided a cozy setting to enjoy the dazzling light displays with a refreshing drink.
