Linda Marie Benenato OBITUARY
Linda Benenato passed away peacefully in Redmond, Washington surrounded by family after a 20 yearlong and valiant battle with cancer that she fought with unwavering strength and perseverance until the very end.
Linda was born and raised in Santa Clara, California where she graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1974 and was the head cheerleader for her Junior and Senior years. She had recently retired from a 45-year career in telecommunications where she was a part of the many changes in technology. She was an avid and competitive tennis player, loved sailing in the San Francisco Bay and in Washington state. She was a professional shopper (not really, she just really liked shopping). Most recently, she volunteered her sewing skills with a group that makes dresses for girls in third world countries. Linda had a great sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to see the funny side of life.
Linda is survived by her husband, Brad Van Vechten, sisters Judy Benenato, Teri Benenato Baxter (Gary), Peggy Benenato Ward (Bob), many cousins, nieces and nephews and one great nephew. She will be greatly missed for the rest of our lives. Until we meet again big sister!
In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.
A celebration of life will be held on January 25, 2025. Contact if you'd like to be included with details about the event.
