Lions vs. Packers Thanksgiving thread, picks: Go Pack Go

Football at 9:30 is a Thanksgiving tradition for those on the West Coast. If they keep playing this way, the Detroit Lions will be the new NFC North team that dominates on turkey day.

Jared Goff will look to bounce back from throwing three interceptions a week ago against the Chicago Bears . He also turned the ball over the last time the Lions played the Green Bay Packers this season. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Lions as 7.5-point favorites this holiday.

The good news for the Lions and Goff is that their offensive line will do the legwork today. Expect the Lions’ running game to have a field day against a lackluster Packers run defense.

On the other side of the ball, the Lions made Justin Fields look like an MVP candidate. Jordan Love is coming off one of his better performances as a pro, but that was against a defense much worse than Detroit’s. This feels like the ideal get right spot for the Lions.

That does not bode well for the 49ers chances of obtaining the No. 1 seed, as they need the Lions to lose a couple of games at some point in the second half. Unless Detroit’s secondary has another bad day at the office, it’s unlikely that today will be one of those games where the Lions slip up.
