TARRANT COUNTY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The first week of testimony in the trial of Anthony Ryan Patterson is set to wrap up after proceedings conclude on Friday, November 8, 2024.
TIMELINE: The trafficking, child sex crimes case against Anthony Patterson
Former president of the Patterson Auto Group, Patterson, 48, of Wichita Falls , stands accused of multiple counts of human trafficking and child sex crimes.
Testimony began on Monday afternoon, November 4, 2024, in Auxiliary Trial Room A in the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center in Fort Worth. A recap of prior proceedings can be found below:

Proceedings resumed on Friday morning, November 8, 2024, with Special Agent Jake Weaver of the Texas Department of Public Safety's Criminal Investigations Division on the stand, testifying regarding a video of an interview he conducted with Patterson shortly after his initial arrest in February 2021.

— The officer's return for the search of Patterson's home and business was offered by Shook as evidence. They were both admitted without objection from the prosecution.
— Weaver testified that he used multiple techniques during his interview with Patterson following his initial arrest. He testified that throughout the interview, Patterson maintained that nothing sexual happened with the two girls.
— Weaver testified that after Patterson initially denied that any kids had been in his house, Weaver told him he knew children had been there, and that now was the time to tell the truth. He testified that Patterson then admitted that he did have children at his home. Weaver testified that throughout the interview, Patterson denied that anything sexual happened with the children on multiple occasions.
— Weaver testified that Patterson told him during the interview that Bell, who he knew as "Samantha", had gotten into some kind of trouble, she knew that Patterson was on the radar due to the past investigations and that she was trying to blackmail him because of it.
— Shook asked Weaver about another investigation from 2013 involving Patterson after a webcam model reported Patterson had again said disturbing things to the woman, including statements involving sexually assaulting a child and blasphemy. Weaver testified he was aware of the investigation, and that Patterson said the shock value aroused him.
— Shook asked Weaver about an investigation from 2012 involving Patterson after a phone sex worker reported Patterson had said some very alarming statements while talking with her, including requesting to have the woman talk to his daughter about Jesus while he sexually assaulted her. Weaver testified that he was aware of that investigation.
— Weaver testified that he wanted to understand Patterson's self-proclaimed kink. He testified that Patterson told him the "daddy-daughter" kink wasn't about children, but the shock of the act. He also testified that Patterson mentioned a blasphemy kink.
— Weaver testified that during the interview, Patterson admitted to having what he called a "shock kink", as well as a "daddy-daughter" fetish. Weaver testified that he mentioned role play during the interview as well.
— Weaver testified that he was aware that Bell was a prostitute who operated a Backpage account. He testified that prostitutes can be untruthful and manipulative. Shook asked Weaver if prostitutes were capable of blackmail. "I'm sure they could," Weaver said.
— Shook questioned Weaver regarding whether or not tunnel vision is something an investigator should avoid. Weaver testified that it was.
Gillespie passed the witness to Toby Shook, Patterson's lead defense attorney, for cross-examination.
— Weaver testified that when he showed Patterson a picture of the letter found at Bell's apartment, Patterson responded with a slight eye roll and a large swallow.
— Gillespie read portions of the letter found in Jandreani Bell's apartment in Oklahoma City following her release from jail after posting bond. Weaver testified that Patterson said similar things during his interview.
— John Gillespie, Wichita County District Attorney, questioned Weaver regarding the video interview he conducted with Patterson. Weaver testified that Patterson said the girls were not in the room when a sex act took place between himself and Jandreani Bell, who he knew as "Samantha". Weaver testified that he took this as an admission that the sex act happened while the girls were in the house.
