Live updates from Marion Kirby Stadium as Page hosts Ragsdale in a Metro 4A Conference football matchup.

The game pits two first-year coaches at their respective programs. With Page's Caylon Hann being in his first season ever as a varsity head coach, this will be his first time facing Ragsdale coach Antwon Stevenson in that capacity.

Ragsdale enters having defeated Northeast Guilford 14-10 and Glenn 21-20 , prior to taking consecutive losses to Triad top 10 teams , with a 31-6 defeat to Oak Grove, then a 30-13 loss last week to Northern Guilford in their conference opener. The Tigers matched their 2023 win total when it began 2-0 for the first time since 2012.

Hann's tenure at Page began with blowout losses to Dudley , Reidsville and Mount Tabor, all three top five in the current Triad Rankings , before flipping the script with a 55-12 victory over Southwest Guilford.

Pregame:

Ragsdale has a very balanced offensive attack, both playing calling and in terms of production. In their first four games, they have passed 51.8% of the time and run 48.2% of the time. The Tigers average 169.5 passing yards per game and 171 rushing yards per game.

Hann knows Stevenson from playing basketball at Glenn's gym when Stevenson was coaching there and Hann was an assistant coach at TW Andrews. Hann says he is very appreciative of the coach and his open-arms approach toward giving back to the community.

Hann on biggest keys against Ragsdale: "It's not who we play, it's how we play. We need to continue to practice the way we've been practicing, continue to prepare for Ragsdale the same way we came prepared for Southwest and I think we will have a similar turnout."

Hann on the differences between the first three games and the win over Southwest: "The obvious biggest reason was that we weren't going against three of the top three teams in the state. You have those athletes with a lot of talent like Jerron Blackwell from Dudley and you know you had Snook (Peterkin) from Mount Tabor and Dionte Neal from Reidsville and those guys are pretty tough, so when you go against guys who are not as tough as them, it gives you a sense of confidence. We definitely got a boost of confidence going up against those guys, but we also were able to show our true talent because we have some guys that can make some plays. We have some guys that came back from injury in Kasai Poindexter and then we have a freshman who was able to get some touches now on offense in Zion Malloy, who is very dynamic."

Page was outscored by an average of 47-11 in its first three games prior to its 55-12 win over Southwest Guilford.
