WILKES-BARRE — Beginning Friday, and continuing through the holiday season, the city will offer free parking at meters in downtown starting at noon each day, Mayor Thomas M. Leighton announced.
Areas included in the free-parking program are bounded by Union, River and Ross streets and Pennsylvania Avenue. The program will continue until Jan. 7.
HAZLETON — The office of state Rep. Todd Eachus, D-Butler Township, will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday.
The office will resume normal hours of operation, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Monday. The office is at 100 W. Broad St.
EDWARDSVILLE – Luzerne County Transportation Authority buses will not operate on Thanksgiving Day. Regular service resumes on Friday. For more information, call BUS-TIME (287-8463).
WYOMING – The borough manager’s office and street department will be closed Thursday and Friday.
PLYMOUTH – The borough administration office will be closed Thursday and Friday. The public works department will be closed Thursday and Monday. and will operate on Friday. There will be no newspaper recycling on Monday.
