PAC fetes CM athletes
College Misericordia cross country standout Amy Bower was named the
co-Runner of the Week in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference while four other
Cougars were named to the PAC honor roll.
Sean Kraus (men’s soccer), Jamie Derr (field hockey), Mallory Bieber
(tennis) and Chris Wadas (cross country) were all selected to the honor roll.
Bower, a junior, finished third overall out of 190 competitors at the
Lebanon Valley Invitational. Her time of 19:25 was the third fastest time in
school history.
Wadas, a senior and Hanover Area graduate, finished ninth of 208 racers at
Lebanon Valley and his time of 27:23 was the ninth fastest in school history.
Suchoski gets 8th honor
For the eighth time in her standout career, Sara Suchoski, a senior forward
on the University of Scranton women’s soccer team, has been named the Freedom
Conference Player of the Week.
In addition, freshman Jackie Colley was named the Freedom Conference
Defender/Goalie of the Week. Both players were honored for their efforts in
Scranton’s two victories at the Mule Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in
Allentown.
In a 1-0 victory over Muhlenberg College on Saturday, Suchoski had the
assist on Laura Gibbons’ game-winning goal at the 4:59 mark of the first half.
Suchoski came back Sunday to score three goals, including the game-winner, in
the Royals’ 6-1 victory over Roger Williams College.
In the process, she tied Lori Snyder’s University of Scranton all-time
scoring record of 162 total points. Snyder scored 162 total points during her
career 1983-1986.
