The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers will unveil team logos, colors and
uniforms at 11 a.m. Thursday during a press conference at First Union Arena.
“Let me assure you that our logos are excellent. They incorporate the
initial vision of owners Greg Smith and Johnny Unitas with images of victory
and strength,” said Rick Sneed, the general manager of the arenafootball2
team.
In other news, the Pioneers will have their first free agent tryout camp
tomorrow at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome in Wilkes-Barre. Registration and
check-in for linemen, fullbacks and linebackers will be at 7 a.m., followed by
a 9 a.m. workout.
Registration for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, defensive
backs and kickers will be at 11 a.m., with a workout at 1 p.m.
Between 100 and 300 participants are expected at the tryout.

A 30-minute television show, “The Red Barons: Final Chapter 2001,” will
