HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A fundraiser in Holyoke Thursday night is helping to support the educational needs of children within the city.

The organization, Homework House held its "Harvest for Homework House" fundraiser. The evening at Wyckoff Country Club featured food, raffles, and a chance to meet new leadership, all while supporting a worthy cause. All proceeds benefit children grades 1 to 5 succeed academically through emotional and social support.

"We're creating that bridge from school to home and we're giving that home more time so that we parents may be able to better themselves as well. And, you know, we're seeing that parents are able to maybe take a a course at a level college while they're students with us," said Executive Director, Dave Haslam.

With these funds, they also hope to get a dual language program started for students this summer. Eventually, they'd like to expand their programs to other surrounding communities and students beyond 5th grade.
