WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A local non-profit is partnering with local restaurants throughout the Pioneer Valley to help put an end to Veteran homelessness ahead of Veterans Day.

According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, nearly 36,000 Veterans experienced homelessness last year in the U.S.

Wood-N-Tap in West Springfield is one of many restaurants partnering with the non-profit 'Soldier On' for their 'Dine to Donate' event. 15% of each meal goes directly to supporting homeless veterans.

Dozens came to the restaurant to show their support for this cause. Bar Manager Joshua Colon told 22News, "They've spent their entire lives taking care of us voluntarily, so I think it is about time to step up as a community and kind of return the favor..pay it forward so to speak."

If you're looking to show your support, Yarde Tavern in South Hadley will be a participating restaurant on November 7th, supporting our local veterans.
