Local Urban League offering free rides to polls on Election Day
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) —A local organization is stepping up to empower voters in the community by providing free rides to the polls on election day. The urban league of the river valley is committed to ensuring everyone can exercise their right to vote.
Voter turnout can significantly influence election results, making accessibility vital. Tracey Mosley from the urban league emphasizes the importance of removing barriers for those who may struggle with transportation.
"Not everyone has transportation so for those who do not have transportation we are providing free rides on November 5th all day starting early in the morning 8 or 9 o'clock in the morning all the way through 6 o'clock p.m.," said Mosley."
People can simply call the Urban League office to reserve a spot for pickup. This non-partisan effort aims to help all eligible voters make their voices heard during this crucial election.
Mosley encourages everyone to take part in the democratic process, regardless of their preferred candidate.
You can reserve a ride by calling the Urban League Headquarters at (706) 322-6840.
